II. Parade Script

Each entry will be announced at the grand stand of the parade according to the information you provide below. Please be brief - keeping your comments to 2 - 3 lines.

Floats- trailer pulled by vehicle.  11:00 A. P&ES Parking lot.
Enter: 9th St. at North East corner of lot
Decorated Car or Truck  11:30 A. Physical and Environmental Science parking lot.
Enter: 9th St. at North East corner of lot
**King/Queen Candidates  12:00 P. P&ES faculty parking lot South West corner
Enter: 9th Street faculty parking lot
Marching Bands  12:15 P. 10th St & Francis, North West Parking lot.
Enter: 10th Street
Walkers  12:30 P. 10th St. & Francis, South West corner of the P&ES Building
** King/Queen Candidates are automatically entered.
   Candidates are responsible for obtaining their car, driver, and flowers.

 V.  Candy

  • Candy is permitted.  However, candy can only be given or handed out by a "walker".  Candy may not be  thrown from a float/truck/car or any motor vehicle.  Please observe the parade audience and your surroundings to ensure everyone's safety.  Thank you!

 

VI. Float Details

  • Money will be available to student organizations building floats
  • Organizations are required to submit float plans/ designs/ sketches to the Campus Life and Leadership office, University Center 152 by September 24 at 4pm
  • $100 will go to the first 10 student organizations to submit their application and designs
  • Receipts must be turned in to the parade committee justifying expenses
  • The committee will review the receipts, if monies are not spent for the overall construction of the float organizations will be responsible to reimburse the committee

 

Construction:  It is the understanding of the organization that with this entry we assume complete responsibility for all materials, tools, equipment, and other items of value in the building in which our entry is being constructed, as well as the return of these items, if borrowed. We also assume the responsibility of the orderly conduct of all personnel on the construction locations. Furthermore, it is fully understood that all activities concerning the parade are considered to be University functions and ALCOHOL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
Parade:  It is fully understood that East Central University is not responsible for any damages to personal property (Cars, Trucks, Trailers, ets.)  We, the entry, assume responsibility for any personal injury that may occur.  Reminder:  Sorry, no horses.
