Department of Environmental Health Science

Environmental Health Science is an interdisciplinary field of study that includes the natural and social sciences and the application of those sciences to the areas of environmental health and environmental protection. The major in Environmental Health Science prepares students for employment as environmental health specialists and environmental protection specialists with industry and governmental agencies. In addition, the completion of the major prepares students for graduate programs in environmental health and environmental science.

The Environmental Health Science program contributes to the overall mission of East Central University by offering a baccalaureate degree in Environmental Health Science. The EHS program is one of 30 programs nationally accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council (http://www.ehacoffice.org/).

A minimum of fifty-five (55) hours are required for a major; no minor is needed. In addition, the program offers a viable minor for students with other majors in the natural sciences and social sciences.
