ECU HOSTING REGIONAL COMPUTER PROGRAMMING COMPETITION NOV. 3

More than 20 student teams from colleges and universities across Oklahoma and Texas will be challenged to solve real-world problems Nov. 3 [SATURDAY] when East Central University hosts a regional competition of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest.

ECU is one of four sites hosting the South Central Regionals for the ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery. All four sites will compete simultaneously with only one winner. That winner, the team that solves the most problems in the five-hour competition, will advance to the World Finals next April in Canada.

Mary Kay Tarver, instructor of computer science and ECU's site director, said ECU will present site awards to the top three teams competing at ECU, the top team in each undergraduate and graduate division and the first team to solve each problem.
