The regional winners of junior high and high school science projects and research papers will compete for prizes beginning Thursday [MARCH 25] at the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair and the Oklahoma Junior Academy of Science held annually at East Central University.

Cash, science-related prizes and scholarships will be awarded in the two competitions.

The Science Fair's 224 projects, completed by 255 students from 63 junior high and high schools, can be viewed from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday in Kerr Activities Center. Judging for junior high school students will start at 8 a.m. Friday. High school projects will be judged beginning at 1 p.m. Friday.

The OJAS competition has 90 students from 25 schools who will begin presenting their research papers on Thursday. The papers were certified for the state competition earlier at regional competitions across the state.

A number of the OJAS competitors also have entries in the science and engineering fair.

A special awards ceremony will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Ataloa Theatre in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. The OSSEF/OJAS awards presentation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Ataloa Theatre.
