Kris Steele of Shawnee at a breakfast meeting Sept. 10 at ECU. The meeting honored Steele as the incoming speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Steele, who received a master of education degree from ECU in 2006, talked about issues the Legislature will tackle during the next session, including redistricting, the budget and the corrections system.
