The Family Education Center is sponsored by Smart Start South Central, based at East Central University, and has a variety of parent education and child development materials available for check-out.

Such titles as "125 Brain Games For Babies," "What Should I Feed My Kids?" and "Keeping Cool When Parenting Heats Up" are a few of the resources offered in the center, which is provided by Smart Start South Central, an early childhood initiative based out of East Central University in Ada.

The Family Education Center is a collection of books, CDs, DVDs and pamphlets containing up-to-date information on current trends and relevant issues relating to parenting education, child health and nutrition, and child development. The goal of the center is to help parents and guardians of young children improve their skills as caregivers and teachers.

Smart Start South Central also has placed Family Education Centers in public libraries in Lindsay, Pauls Valley and Maysville.

For more information about the Family Education Center, contact the Wynnewood Public Library at 405-665-2512 or Smart Start South Central at 580-559-5367. Smart Start South Central is located in the Center for Continuing Education and Community Services at ECU.
